A videogame company needs to put depth into a boxing game like they put in other sports games. We are living in a generation of sports fans who want a deal more in their games. You have a variety of fans who are stat junkies(love statistics), create a athlete/character fans, fans of deep customization, deep overall gameplay and features. Many of these companies(EA) need to focus on sports fans who really love and know the sport of boxing. The other fans will come because they like fighting/combat sports games. A boxing game should have enough depth to draw older fans to it too instead of casual young fans.
A boxing game need these to be the ultimate boxing game experience and top selling game.
It needs.....

You need to ensure your fighter gets a career high purse, a split of the PPV (if applicable), negotiate a lucrative rematch clause in the contract and set out a training camp to ensure your fighter is in the best condition to defeat his opponent come fight night.
-In the pre fight press conference when addressing the media, do you A. Question your fighters opponents resume and credentials (The trash talk approach- potentially angering him and taking him off his fight plan). B. Pay respect (The humble approach- potentially causing doubt to your fighter) C. Make a prediction (potentially giving your fighter confidence) this all has a bearing on the psychology of fighters. How all this effect your fighter will depend on there mentality, and every fighter in the boxing game has a different mentality.
-True Boxing Landscape (Style) Brawlers, Boxers, Boxer- Punchers, Counter-Punchers, Sluggers. (Class) Rookie, Young fighters, prospects, top prospects, journeymen, gatekeepers, fringe contenders, contenders, champions, fading legends. Boxers have ring tendencies and are rated in 37 attributes. Inside fighter, outside fighters. Move up or down divisions, fight at catch weights, unify titles. An authentic Boxing world.
Boxing Politics- Rival promotional companies, Interactive news feed, Press conferences, Fighter rivalries and rematches, a high depth Boxing world.
-Contracts- Negotiate Purses, contracts, Pay Per view split, ring size etc.
-Judges Scoring - Lifelike 10 point boxing system, based on ring generalship, effective aggressiveness, clean punching and defence, occasional bad judging as in real life adds to the drama and controversy that exists in boxing.
( I want a historical scoring option, past or present)
-Choosing Opponents- Research opponents for your fighters, put your young gun in with a relentless KO artist too early and he may suffer a bad loss that will derail his career and see him never fulfil his potential. You have to know how to space out your fighters opponents to bring him along nicely. If hes had 3 successive 12 round hard battles he will need some some time off.

-Tell of the Tape/Keys to victory/Broadcast Style Slick presentation- Gives you that Las Vegas big fight feel when your fighter gets into the big league.
-Find talent- Scout new fighters and try to attract other top fighters to your gym, a fighter on a bad run of form is more likely to be unsettled and you could get a great boxer to join your stable
-Promotion Companies Play a big part in arranging fights, negotiate with them and build good working relationships. There are promotional rivalries and intricate politics which can shape a fighters career path.
