Game producers have been saying for years a boxing game needs balance in order to be successful. Producers say they want a boxing game to be fair for everyone. What they are actually doing is taking away the realism, abilities, and uniqueness from boxers. They alienate certain fans who expect a true to life boxing experience in a boxing game. The fan-base for realism and sim is larger than what they lead us to believe. There are many fans willing to give up balance for realism. Balance should never come at the expense of a boxer's capabilities and tendencies. Balance is what's a boxer's strengths and weaknesses; every boxer have them. It should be up to the game player to use them to their advantage or expose another boxer.
You have boxers like Sugar Ray Leonard who was fast in hand and feet movement. Then, there were guys like Mike Tyson who were quick and strong. A boxer's abilities shouldn't ever be balanced out for gameplay. If a boxer is fast, let him be fast. If a boxer is strong and has a big punch so be it. Boxing is about finding ways to win with what you are capable of doing.

ABSOLUTELY. 100,000% THE TRUTH. GREAT PIECE. WE CAN'T SACRIFICE WHAT MAKES FIGHTERS UNIQUE, IN ORDER TO BE "FAIR". BOXING IS ABOUT OVERCOMING YOUR OPPONENTS ADVANTAGES, WITH WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE.
