I can't understand why boxers don't want to be in a videogame or support the idea. It's a great way to increase their fan base in the long run. If a videogame is created correctly it can inspire fans to have a different perspective of boxing in general. The sad part is that many fans are missing out on boxers who may be Hall Of Famers or potential future Hall of Famers. Boxing is one of them sports that has been around for centuries and it should be respected for this. There are a few boxers who say they want a boxing videogame to be made but they aren't really vocal or supportive. Then, you have a few boxers who outprice themselves not thinking about these companies have a budget and they have to pay other boxers in different weight classes that fans may want in the game not to mention historical and old school boxers. Fans hate a limited boxing videogame with a small assortment of boxers. If fans aren't happy the game doesn't sell and the company loses money that they paid to overpriced boxers. One or two known boxers in a videogame will not sell a videogame, it gets boring to fans. I really hope boxers and the boxing community starts being more supportive of wanting a boxing videogame because boxing is Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat! Boxers can make a huge difference by saying they want to be in a videogame. The boxing community will be behind them and help make this a reality. We can also encourage these companies to support boxing programs and create boxing tournaments for the youth.
